Born Nov. 21, 1981, in Bloomington, Minn...full name is Andrew John Skoglund...son of Tim and Ardis Skoglund...majoring in engineering science...named to the academic all-state team...scored a perfect 1,600 on the SAT test and 35 on his ACT test...has played the trombone since fifth grade...acted in the school play, HMS Pinafore, in the fall of 1999...standing 7-1, Skoglund joins former Cyclone and Minnesota native Brad Dudek and current Cyclone teammate Chris Alexander as the tallest players to ever wear an Iowa State uniform...Dudek (1984-85), Tom O’Connor (1972-73), Joe Ashley (1980) and Tyler Peterson (1996) are the only other Cyclones over 7 feet...could dunk a basketball in the seventh grade. |
