Standard sets a date for his decision

St.Louis (MO) Chaminade College Prep's running back Rob Standard has been down to two schools for a while and today he broke the news exclusively to Cyclone Sports Report on when he will be making his his final choice.

Cyclone Sports Report: Last time we talked you were down to Nebraska and Iowa State. Is this still the case?

Rob Standard: Yeah and I now have set a date for my final decision. I will be picking either Nebraska or Iowa State next Thursday (August 19th) at 3pm at my high school.

Cyclone Sports Report: What do you like most about Nebraska?

Rob Standard: I like that they will be playing in my favorite conference which is the Big Ten and I like the offense that they run. It definitely seems like I could fit in well with their offense.

Cyclone Sports Report: What do you like most about Iowa State?

Rob Standard: I would say the coaches who just really made me feel at home when I visited there. I also like that they run the ball a lot in their offense. Looking at their depth chart if I picked them I would have a chance to get on the field my first year if I was able to show the coaches that my skill set was good enough.

Cyclone Sports Report: What do you think of Coach Rhoads?

Rob Standard: He's just a straight-up guy and really down to earth which is what I like in a coach. He was real with me and I can tell that he wants to do everything 100% all the time at Iowa State.

Cyclone Sports Report: You were the Missouri Class 5 Player of the Year last season and you rushed for 2,821 yards and 39 touchdowns. What do you have in store for an encore in 2010?

Rob Standard: The numbers only matter a little to me because what I really want to do is help lead our team to a state championship. I have my offensive line back and we also have a lot of players back from last season when we made it to the quarterfinals before losing.

Cyclone Sports Report: What will be the ultimate factors in your decision that you will be making next week?

Rob Standard: The school I choose has to have a home feeling to it and I want a place where I am surrounded by hard workers because that is what I plan on doing when I get to college. Academics are another big factor and overall I just want a place with a great atmosphere. Recommended Stories
