Things ended really well for me and thanks to all of you who have congratulated me on my award (New Hampshire Gatorade Player of the Year).
I ended my season year as a champion as we ended our season 35-5 which was a new school record for wins in a season. We didn't lose at home all season long and we won all our tournaments during the season and then our conference tournament and the national prep tournament. We were the first Brewster team to ever do that so now I have bragging rights over Craig's (Brackins) team.
This season was really great and a major reason was my boy, Will Barton (Memphis), who is one of the best high school players in the nation. I definitely think that I improved as a player but I still have a long ways to go to be the player that I know I can be and I definitely hope it happens while I'm at Iowa State. I'm going to continue to work on my ballhandling and to have a more consistent jump shot because those are the things that I have been told that I need to work on. Now that the season is over I'm dedicating my spring to becoming as good as I can and working on anything that will make me a better player.
I'm proud of my Iowa State team as it was a rough year but they gutted it out and didn't stop trying and that says a lot about each of them as individuals. They could have packed it in at the end of the season but they didn't and ended up getting a crazy win over a fifth ranked Kansas State team. That game was crazy!
I have been talking to a bunch of the players and I've been trying to get to know the new recruits coming in next year. I talk to the coaches a lot about a variety of things. We talk about what I need to improve on and even funny things like what songs we are listening to. I have got a really good connection with them and they are a big part of the reason why I chose to attend Iowa State.
So thank you to all the dedicated Iowa State fans for your support and for all the nice comments on my facebook. You guys are the best and I can't wait to get down to Ames in June to meet you all and officially become a Cyclone. Hit me up on facebook anytime and thanks to Greg for giving me this opportunity.
