Cyclone Sports Report: Why is Iowa State the right place for you?

Pierce Richardson: The coaching staff is really great and I just really felt comfortable when I was there.

Cyclone Sports Report: Did you watch the Insight Bowl?

Pierce Richardson: Yeah, I thought they played a little up and down but the key is that they got the win. I hope it's a springboard for next season so that hopefully we can keep going to bowl games.

Cyclone Sports Report: What is your biggest strength as a player?

Pierce Richardson: I would say my work ethic. I have always worked hard and I know that I'll continue to be successful if I keep doing that at Iowa State.

Cyclone Sports Report: Besides getting stronger, what is the one thing that you want to improve on the most?

Pierce Richardson: My run blocking because I'm a pretty good receiver but I want to be a complete tight end.

Cyclone Sports Report: What is the one thing that you like most about Coach Rhoads?

Pierce Richardson: I would definitely say his energy is what I like most about him.

Cyclone Sports Report: Who is the player that you are compared to the most?

Pierce Richardson: Chase Coffman

Cyclone Sports Report: Who is the player that you look up to the most?

Pierce Richardson: Antonio Gates

Cyclone Sports Report: What will your major be at Iowa State?

Pierce Richardson: Communications

Cyclone Sports Report: Which Big 12 team are you most looking forward to play against?

Pierce Richardson: Texas

Cyclone Sports Report: Outside of football, what is the one thing that you liked most about Iowa State during your visit?

Pierce Richardson: I really liked the Academic Support Staff.

Cyclone Sports Report: Do you stay in touch with any of the Iowa State players or fellow 2010 class members?

Pierce Richardson: Yeah, I still talk with Ben Lamaak from Iowa State and I also talk with quarterback Jared Barnett who is also part of my recruiting class.

Pierce Richardson: Jay-Z
