Iowa State Offers Houston Quarterback

Cyclone Sports Report goes one-on-one with Houston (TX) Westfield High School's Jacoby Walker.

Cyclone Sports Report: What schools have offered you besides Iowa State?

Jacoby Walker: I also have offers from Houston, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Syracuse, and Kansas State.

CSR: Which Iowa State coach have you been in contact with the most?

JW: Coach Herman is who I mainly talk to and he's told me all about their new facilities and how they are trying to turn their program around.

CSR: What does he like most about you as a player?

JW: He told me that he likes my versatility at quarterback. He likes that I can do a lot of things at the position and that I already play a lot in the shotgun at my high school.

CSR: What is your current height and weight?

JW: I'm 6-foot-2 and I weigh 210 pounds.

CSR: Have you talked with Coach Rhoads?

JW: Yeah, I talked with both him and Coach Herman on the phone when they offered. He told me that he saw a lot of great things in me and that I could help Iowa State in the future in a big way. He told me about the up and coming things going on at Iowa State and that they are trying to bring in the right kind of players.

CSR: Have you taken any visits?

JW: I've have only been to Kansas and that was last month.

CSR: Do you have any coming up soon?

JW: No, I'm not going to be taking any visits in the near future because spring ball just started two weeks ago but I might take some during the summer.

CSR: Do you have any leaders?

JW: I'm pretty open right now but Kansas might have a slight lead just because I have already been there. Overall, I'm open and just want to see what is out there before I make a decision.

CSR: When are you looking to make a final decision?

JW: I want to make a decision during the summer before my season so that I can fully focus on the season when it begins.
