Washington Staying With Iowa State

Posted Jan 10, 2009

Owasso (OK) High School's Jacques Washington has decided to keep his commitment to Iowa State.

"I've decided to stay with Iowa State," he said. "I'm fully committed and look forward to working with the new coaches."

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback has the spent the past two weeks getting to know Iowa State's new head Paul Rhoads. "I've been able to speak with Coach Rhoads about two or three times and he's real cool," said Washington. "He knows what he is doing and what he is after at Iowa State. He plans to use me the same way as the other staff did which will be at cornerback."

Jacques also recently received a call from new Iowa State secondary coach Chris Ash. "Coach Ash called me a few days ago and he seemed cool," said Washington. "We didn't talk too much football but it was more us just getting to know each other."
