"The game was awsome and the Cyclone fans were great as you could tell that they are really hungry for a winner," he said. "I just feel that the players just need to show a little more leadership. I think that's what they are lacking. I feel I could bring that to them if I pick Iowa State."The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive end has done his homework on Iowa State Head Coach Gene Chizik and came away very impressed after meeting with him. "I had a real good meeting with him and I had already read up on him and learned about all of his success at Auburn and Texas," he said. "He' a winner and I think he's going to build Iowa State into a real good program."
Sam says that he also enjoyed getting to tour the campus on Sunday. "The campus was real nice and I liked meeting with the academic people," he said. "I plan on majoring in sports medicine and I could tell that they really care about their players."
Michael feels that he is likely down to five schools and that Iowa State definitely has a chance. "I could definitely see myself going there but I'm not ready to make a decision," said Sam. "I'm not going to make a decision for a while because I want to see all that is out there. Right now I'm pretty much down to Arizona State, Iowa State, Colorado State, Oklahoma State, and Missouri."
