"Leonard Johnson who also went to my high school is my best friend and I'm really looking forward to seeing him," said Marry. "We grew up together and we still stay in touch all the time. We mostly text and he's told me a lot of good things about Iowa State. He said that the coaches are really upfront with you and that they really care about the team. Mostly, he just tells me that it's a good place to be."The 6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker has mostly been in contact with Iowa State assistant coach Mike Pelton and Cyclone Head Coach Gene Chizik who both have told Marry pretty much the same thing. "They both have told me that they really need linebackers and that I could come in and play early," said Marry.
Playing time is important to Marry but will not be the only factor in his eventual decision. "It's a big part but academics are really important also," he said. "I plan on majoring in either engineering or sports medicine."
Marry doesn't have a clear leader but did provide Cyclone Sport Report with a rough estimate on when he would like to make his final decision. "I don't have a top five or anything but I'm definitely looking at a lot of schools like Michigan and Florida also," he said. "I'm going to try and make my decision some time during December."
