"I'll be getting up there on Friday and I'm real excited to see the school," said Hargrett. "I'm looking for a good atmosphere, what kind of education I could get there, and nice people who are down to earth."
The 5-foot-9, 180-pound running back says that Iowa State recruited him last spring but that they eased up once he committed to West Virginia. "They were looking at me but then we really didn't have any contact for a while," said Hargrett. "Once they found out that I was still looking at some other schools we started talking again."
The Cyclones coaching staff even paid him a visit last week. "Coach Boulware has recruited me from the beginning and we started talking a lot over the past few weeks," he said. "Then he came down to my school last week during his bye week."
Daquan also has offers from Clemson, South Florida, and Minnesota and said he might take a few other visits. "I'm still committed to West Virginia but my decision is not completely final so that's why I'm looking at other schools," said Hargrett. "As for right now, I don't have any other visits set up but it's definitely a possibility that I might take a few more."
Daquan says Iowa State has also been very clear on why they have so much interest in him. "Coach Boulware was saying that they really like my speed. I was recently timed at 4.29 in the forty," said Hargrett. "He said that they need a change of pace back and that I could possibly play as a true freshman."
No matter what happens this weekend, Hargrett says that a final decision is a ways off. "I'm probably going to wait and look at all my options," he said. "I think I'll probably wait until signing day to make my final decision."
