The 6-foot-2, 180-pound quarterback from Houston got to Ames on Saturday after his high school team suffered a tough 32-14 loss on Friday night. "I really enjoyed meeting (Quarterback) Coach Petersen," said Guiton. "I got to hang out with him for a while and I really liked just talking with him while we watched other college games together."
Kenneth also got to talk with Iowa State Head Coach Gene Chizik and he liked what he heard. "I really like him a lot," said Guiton. "He just seems honest and down to earth but he didn't put any pressure on me to make a commitment. He just told me to take my time and to make my decision when I was ready."
Guiton then went to the game and really enjoyed what he saw. "The game atmosphere was really great. The crowd was packed and I don't think I saw an empty spot," he said. "We also got to go down on the sidelines which was really fun."
After the game, Guiton got to hang out with the Cyclones starting quarterback. "My host was Austen Arnaud and he made it real fun for me," he said. "I got along with all the players and they really treated me great."
Guiton understands that Iowa State is currently playing two sophomore quarterbacks and says that he would have no problem redshirting his first season. "I actually want to redshirt my first season," he said. "I'm only 17 years old and I won't be 18 until June. I'd rather take a year to get bigger and learn the offense."
Kenneth finished up his visit by touring some of the campus and checking out certain facilities. "It was all really nice and I really liked the dorms," he said. "I have seen some of the freshman dorms at other schools and these were a lot better."
