Oklahoma Defensive Lineman Names His Leaders

Will Enid (OK) High School's Trent Dupy choose one of his two favorites before his season begins?

The 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive tackle has offers from Tulsa and Iowa State but is also being recruited by Kansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Arkansas.

"Tulsa and Iowa State are definitely my leaders," he said. "They are definitely recruiting me the hardest."

Trent spoke with Cyclone assistant coach Shawn Raney recently and that led to a decision on his part. "I'm definitely taking an official visit to Iowa State in the fall," said Dupy. "I may even take an unofficial visit before the season starts."

Dupy has already taken unofficial visits to Oklahoma, Tulsa, and Kansas and really hopes that he can come in and play early at the school that he eventually chooses. "It's a big factor because I really want to get on the field," he said. "I'm a run-stuffer and I can also bring some pass rush as a lineman."

Along with speaking with Coach Raney, Trent has also gotten to speak with Iowa State Head Coach Gene Chizik. "He was really fired up," said Dupy. "He said that he really liked my film and that right after he saw it that he wanted to offer me a scholarship."

Dupy is not completely sure yet when he will make his final decision. "I'm going to try and commit before the season," he said. "But if I like the unofficial visit I might just commit and end it earlier."
