Dower Keeping His Options Open

Osseo (MN) High School Power Forward Sam Dower will be returning again to the Iowa State Elite Basketball Camp this summer.

"I went last year and really enjoyed it," said Dower. "I got to know some of the Iowa State players and playing against them really helped me. Going against Craig Brackins showed me just how strong I've got to be when I get to college."

Sam says his recruiting is wide open and he lists scholarship offers from Iowa, St. Louis, UNI, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, George Mason, Montana, and Drake but stressed that he was also definitely looking hard at Iowa State. "They haven't offered yet but I'm in communication with them a lot," he said. "I just talked to Coach McDermott today and I talk with Coach Otzelberger on a consistent basis."

The 6-foot-9, 210-pound Dower believes he is a natural power forward. "I feel I can play in the post and also step out and shoot the ball," he said. "I've just got to continue to get stronger and I also am working on my quickness."

Along with the Cyclones Elite Camp, Dower has a very busy summer ahead of him. "I will also be camping at UNI and St.Louis and will be making visits to George Mason and Gonzaga," he said. "Then in July, my AAU Team (Net Gain Sports) has tournaments in Milwaukee, Las Vegas, and Arizona."
