CN has learned that today, Greg
McDermott and the Iowa State
basketball coaching staff picked up their second commitment in the class of
2008, as Dominique Buckley, a 6’2, 190 pound point guard out of Romulus Senior
HS in Romulus, Mich., committed to Iowa State on Wednesday afternoon.
Buckley is a true point guard who
has great vision and can make an immediate impact when he gets to Iowa State. Buckley is a floor general, who led
his Romulus team, coached by Nate Oats, to the
Michigan state
title game as only freshman in high school.
Peering into the future sees a
great combination of Buckley, a pure point guard and 2007 commitment Diante
Garrett who can play all three guard positions effectively. Buckley also joins
Fremont, Neb. native and sharp shooter, Wes Eikmeier,
as the second commitment in McDermott’s 2008 recruiting class.
Buckley chose Iowa State
over interest from Xavier, Dayton, Illinois, Drake, Penn State,
Miami and Florida State.

about Buckley’s commitment to the Cyclones.
