Iowa State Looking at Assumption Lineman

Matt Bentler is a 6'5, 280 pound offensive lineman out of Assumption High School in Davenport, Iowa and he's receiving national attention from several traditional college football powers. With all of the attention that he's getting, Bentler still says that Iowa State is right in the thick of things.

Matt Bentler is a 6'5, 280 pound offensive lineman out of Assumption High School in Davenport, Iowa and he's receiving national attention from several traditional college football powers. With all of the attention that he's getting, Bentler still says that Iowa State is right in the thick of things.

 

"I'm not really ranking anybody right now. I'm open to any school," said Bentler.

 

Along with Iowa State, Bentler is receiving attention from Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Miami and Notre Dame. Bentler attended Junior Days at Iowa State, Wisconsin and Illinois. Bentler is planning on touring to numerous camps around the country this summer, but hasn't scheduled any of them yet. Bentler hasn't received any offers at this time.

 

When Bentler walked away from Iowa State's Junior Day, the facilities were one thing that stood out to him.

 

"They have nice facilities. I liked their indoor facility the most. It's a really good school," said Bentler.

 

Bentler said that he's going to take it easy and weigh his options before he gets serious about recruiting.

 

All in all, Bentler seemed very upbeat when talking about Iowa State and it looks like the Cyclones will be a serious contender to land Bentler.

 

"I think it's a good school and I'm really interested in them."
