Lyndsey Medders (Iowa State) was named Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week while Takia Starks (Texas A&M) was chosen Phillips 66 Big 12 Rookie of the Week by a media voting panel for games played from Nov. 28-Dec. 4.

Medders poured in a career-best 32 points in a victory over Drake, helping Iowa State win in Des Moines for the first time since 2001. Her 32 points matched the ninth-best single-game scoring mark in school history. The junior point guard drained 11-of-21 shots (52.4 percent) and was 3-of-6 from behind the arc. Medders was perfect from the charity stripe, sinking all seven free throws. She played 39 minutes and added four rebounds, four assists and three steals.

The Los Angeles native is just the second Cyclone to earn the honor since 2003 (Anne O'Neil, Dec. 20, 2005). Medders was voted Big 12 Rookie of the Week as a freshman (Dec. 8, 2004).
