Iowa State might be in line to get an offensive lineman out of Palo Hills, Illinois. Jan Gewont, a 6'5, 280 pound offensive lineman has said that Iowa State is at the top of his large list of schools that have offered him. Gewont has been offered by: Iowa State, Toledo, Ball State, UCONN, New Mexico and New Mexico State.
"I'm going to try and make an official visit out there (Iowa State.) I haven't' set up an official date but I want to give the coach a call and set up a date. I want to go there sometime," said Gewont. Gewont has been putting off the recruiting process until after his high school season in which his team ended up 9-2 and lost in the second round of the Illinois state playoffs. Gewont is a three year starter for his high school and is one of the top prospects out of Illinois. He is still yet to take an official visit anywhere, but plans on scheduling one at Iowa State anytime this week or next.
"I've heard a lot of good things. I know Iowa State is in the Big 12 and they play a lot of tough schools like Texas and Nebraska. I know they compete really well with them. I've seen them on TV a few times," said Gewont. Jan believes that he could fit in well at Iowa State and looks forward to seeing the campus.
"I've been talking a lot to the coaches. I know that Iowa State's a big school and they've been doing pretty good. I like to win. I always have a positive attitude about things," said Gewont.
Gewont is projected to be a guard at the next level. That is where he plays now.
