ISU Hoops Adds Second Commitment

The Insiders
Posted Oct 7, 2003

Iowa State received its second commitment for the fall signing period Monday night when a combo guard that had visited campus last month gave the Cyclone coaching staff a verbal.

Tasheed Carr, out of Mount Zion in Durham, is headed to Iowa State. Carr, a Philadelphia native, visited Ames and committed to the staff on Monday evening, according to sources.

ISU has an interesting “in” with Carr as Fred Quartlebaum, an ISU assistant, was at UNC last year and actually lived right down the street from the school and scouted Carr during his time in Chapel Hill.
