AllCyclones.com publisher Trey Scott sent an email to Iowa State athletics director Jamie Pollard on Sunday to ask about the progress of the plans to upgrade the south end zone at Jack Trice Stadium — which still needs to be approved by a Board of Regents in February — and if Pollard had any specific visions for the end goal.
Here's Pollard's response:
Pollard: "Not much to share at this point as we still have to hire an architect for the project. That process will take place over the next four to six weeks.
"Once we have done that we will begin our planning process. The goal of the project is to simply maintain/enhance the great atmosphere we already have in the stadium while enclosing the stadium.
"The composition of seating (suites, clubs, loges, reserved, general admission) and the number of seats is a yet to be determined number and will not be finalized until we get well into design. We are not locking ourselves into a number of seats at this point as that would be very premature and could be very counter-productive to achieving our overall goal of maintaining/enhancing our game day environment."
