Following a career performance, scoring a team-high 26 points in the 86-71 loss to the Sooners on Wednesday in Lubbock, freshman Josh Gray once again carried the team on Saturday in Ames.
Finishing the game 7-for-15 from the field for 20 points, once again turned out to be a team-high, and despite a second-straight 20-point performance for the freshman, the Red Raiders fell for the eighth-straight game losing 86-66 to the Cyclones.
The second time around was much different for the surging Cyclones (19-8, 9-5), winners of six of their last 10 games, thanks in big part to two 17-point performances from starters Chris Babb and Will Clyburn.
In the first meeting this season between Tech and Iowa State, Clyburn and Babb combined for just 18 pints, 12 and six, respectively.
Tech continues its two-game road swing on Monday, traveling to Manhattan, Kansas to face Kansas State.
Red Raiders fell 68-59 in the first meeting with the Wildcats this season.
First tip for round two is set for 6 p.m. and the game can be seen on ESPNU.
