Mike Riley and the Oregon State Beavers have done a good job of attracting talented players from the state of California, and yet another Golden State standout is headed to Corvallis with the commitment of Encino (CA) Crespi defensive back Brandon Arnold on Monday.

"My decision to pick Oregon State was between them and Cal, and I just fell in love with Oregon State on my official visit," said Arnold.

The three-star safety had double-digit scholarship offers and picked the Beavers over Cal, Michigan State and several others.

"I have a good relationship with Coach (Rod) Perry and Coach (Mark) Banker, I like them a lot, and we talk every week," said Arnold.

Arnold visited Corvallis earlier this month for the Beavers' 36-26 win over Arizona State. While on campus he was able to spend time with the players and coaches and felt that Oregon State was the perfect fit.

"When I took my official visit to Oregon State, I fell in love with it," said Arnold.  "Corvallis is a good town, with a good atmosphere, and the fans were amazing.  I enjoyed meeting with the coaches, I liked the campus a lot and the football team is really good."

Arnold enjoyed what Reser Stadium had to offer.

"The game was amazing and the atmosphere is live and real good.  The crowd was really in to it and the stand throughout the game and I loved it there," said Arnold.

The 6-1, 190-pound safety has built a strong bond with the Oregon State coaching staff throughout the recruiting process, and is excited for the opportunity to play for defensive back coach Rod Perry.
