Eyes On Iowa

Although it is relatively early in the recruiting process, Iowa State has already begun its scouting of seniors-to-be in the state of Iowa. A few of the top players have already received scholarship offers from the Cyclones and some others could in the near future. Here is a sampling of some of the players within the state's borders that Dan McCarney's staff is currently recruiting.

OFFENSE: Jason Scales, RB, 5-10, 170, West Des Moines (Iowa) Valley H.S. Prolific central Iowa running back led his high school team to a 4A State title as a junior. Earned First Team All-State honors last fall. Has started at tailback since his sophomore season and rushed for over 4,000 yards and 45 touchdowns, including 2,600-plus yards and 32 touchdowns in 2002. Scales appears to be most...
