Cyclone Sports Report: Which schools do you have offers from?
Kale Abrahamson: Wake Forest, Northwestern, Iowa State, Nebraska, UNI, Harvard, Creighton, and Albany. I’m also hearing from some other schools that could be close to offering.
Cyclone Sports Report: Do you have any visits scheduled for the next month or two?
Kale Abrahamson: Yeah, I’m going to visit Stanford this week and I’ll also be visiting Vanderbilt, Colorado, Boston College, and Florida State.
Cyclone Sports Report: Do you have any favorites?
Kale Abrahamson: No, I have already taken some visits and I want to take other visits so that I can find a place where I fit best. Location is not a factor in my decision. I can stay close to home and that will be great to have my parents see more of my games or if I feel more comfortable at a school away from home I will branch out and got to that school.
Cyclone Sports Report: What will be the most important factors in your final decision?
Kale Abrahamson: I would say that the most important thing would be having a good relationship with the coaches and players. I also want to see what kind of style that each team plays because I’m looking for a school that runs and gets out in transition. I want a coaching staff that let’s its players play their game.
Cyclone Sports Report: How would you describe your game to people who have not seen you play?
Kale Abrahamson: I can play the two or the three spot and I would say that I’m a scorer. I can shoot the three-pointer and I can also get to the basket off the drive. I’m also working hard at improving my mid-range game.
Cyclone Sports Report: What else are you looking to improve on before you set foot on a college campus?
Kale Abrahamson: The biggest thing is improving my overall strength and athleticism. I need to get to that next level of speed before I play at the college level.
Cyclone Sports Report: What is the status of your recruitment with Iowa State?
Kale Abrahamson: Things are going really well and it’s kind of different than other schools because I’m dealing mostly with Coach Hoiberg which is different because I mostly deal with assistant coaches at the other schools.
Cyclone Sports Report: What are your thoughts on Coach Hoiberg?
Kale Abrahamson: I like him a lot and we have a really good relationship. I like that he played at the highest level and that he knows what it takes to get to the professional level.
Cyclone Sports Report: What does he like most about your game?
Kale Abrahamson: He has told me that he likes that I can stretch the defense by shooting the three-pointer. He also likes that I can score in other ways which I think would fit well in his offense.
Cyclone Sports Report: When are you looking to make a final decision?
Kale Abrahamson: I’m going to sit down with my family throughout the summer and fall and talk about everything and I’ll make the decision when I feel most comfortable with one school. The only thing I know for sure is that I will make my decision before my senior season starts because I just want to focus on trying to win a state championship.
