Cyclone Sports Report: How did your recruitment with Iowa State all come about?
Charles Rogers: They spotted me when they were recruiting Jacob Gannon is now playing for Iowa State. Coach Rhoads gave me my offer and it was just the best feeling.
Cyclone Sports Report: What position are they recruiting you at?
Charles Rogers: They told me that they would likely play me at quarterback or wide receiver.
Cyclone Sports Report: Have you been to Iowa State?
Charles Rogers: Yeah, I have been to a couple of games and went to their camp last year. Their games have a great atmosphere as the fans are really on point. I liked getting to see Coach Rhoads interact with the players. He's just always positive and to me he's a really good guy. I also recently went up for one of their spring practices and it was a lot of fun because I got to hang with Luke Knott who has now committed to Iowa State.
Cyclone Sports Report: Are you friends with Luke Knott?
Charles Rogers: Yeah, I had met him before when I was at Iowa State and we have been on Facebook with each other and he's trying to get me and a small group of guys that I also know to all come to Iowa State. It would be pretty cool to be a part of that with him.
Cyclone Sports Report: What do the Iowa State coaches like most about you as a player?
Charles Rogers: They told me that they just feel like I'm a playmaker that can really make a difference on offense.
Cyclone Sports Report: What are the most important factors for you in picking a school?
Charles Rogers: The first thing would be early playing time because I don't even care what position that I play at as long as I'm on the field. The next factor would be the coaching staff. It's real important because I'm going to be with them for four to five years so I have to gain a trust with them and just look for a family atmosphere.
Cyclone Sports Report: What is your current height and weight?
Charles Rogers: I'm 6-foot-1 and I weigh 185 pounds.
Cyclone Sports Report: What are the other schools recruiting you besides Iowa State?
Charles Rogers: My top six right now is Iowa State, Nebraska, Michigan State, Iowa, Minnesota, and USC. I plan to visit all of those schools during the spring or summer.
