Korie Lucious: I would definitely say Fred Hoiberg. I just feel like he's going to give me the best opportunity to get to the next level. I think he has shown by the way that he has helped Diante (Garrett) play this year that he's a great coach for guards to play for.
Cyclone Sports Report: It would seem with all the talented players coming in next year that you should be playing on a very good team for the 2012-13 season. Do you agree?
Korie Lucious: Yeah, they obviously will be returning most of their players for the season that I will be playing and I definitely think we'll have the talent to go deep into the tournament.
Cyclone Sports Report: How much of a factor was your former Michigan State teammate Chris Allen in your decision to come to Iowa State?
Korie Lucious: Well actually Diante was first to call me when things came out that I was leaving Michigan State. HE said that he talked with Coach Hoiberg and that I should come play there. Then I talked with Chris and he just told me that he thought it would be the best fit for me.
Cyclone Sports Report: What is the best attribute that you will be bringing to Iowa State?
Korie Lucious: I would say my say my competitiveness. I really want to win and after playing in two Final Four's it's pretty much what I expect to do. I just think it's in my blood and so I'll just be trying to bring a lot of heart and tenacity to the court every time I play for Iowa State.
Cyclone Sports Report: Did you already have a relationship with Iowa State assistant coach T.J. Otzelberger from your days in Milwaukee?
Korie Lucious: It was more through other people like Mike Taylor and my brother. They all said that he was a great guy and so that also was another nice thing about Iowa State.
Cyclone Sports Report: You took a visit to Iowa State not long after you decided to leave Michigan State. What did you find out on your visit?
Korie Lucious: I had a lot of fun. The crowd and the whole environment was amazing especially considering the fact that the season has not gone the way they wanted it to. They showed me a lot of love and support and the whole time things just felt like home.
Cyclone Sports Report: You will have to sit out next season's games. What are you going to look to improve on the most during this time off?
Korie Lucious: I really want to work on everything. I'm just going to take the time to really work on my all-round game so that I become as complete of a player as I can be.
