“It was really enjoyable,” said English. “I’m going to talk to my coaches and see what they think and then I’m going to make my decision around 4 or 5pm tomorrow. I'm still considering Memphis, Iowa State, and Kansas.”
Most schools have recruited the 6-foot-4, 323-pound lineman as an offensive lineman but Keithen told Cyclone Sports Report that the Cyclone staff would have other plans for him.
“I talked with Coach Bray, Coach Burham, and Coach Rhoads,” he said. “They told me that they want me at defensive tackle. I also play that for my team and I’m totally fine with playing at that position.”
Keithen clearly enjoyed getting to talk with Iowa State’s head coach during his visit.
“He’s speaks the truth and he’s definitely the real deal,” said English. “He’s just real nice and I could definitely see myself playing for him.”
English also enjoyed catching up with his old family friend, Jared Barnett, who he got to hang out with for a while.
“I mostly hung with Jared, J.T. (Jerome Tiller), and Austen (Arnaud),” he said. “They are all great guys and they just told me they really need me and want me at Iowa State.”
Overall, everything about Iowa State seemed to make English happy.
“The academic center was amazing and I got to meet a lot of great people who were just really nice,” he said. “I loved the game and the whole atmosphere throughout the day. The water bottle celebration after the game was a lot of fun.”
